'One Clear Mind' is a recording by Mike Seal (Told Americans, Blue Soup, A Different Thread, Farefeld, Sean Taylor) and Kostas Bechlos (Blue Soup, Told Americans, Red Jazz Asymphony Orchestra) featuring renowned free jazz sax player Bruce Coates (Fizzle, Frimp). It is spoken word over improvised music.
These are rants, difficult to hear, often misanthropic, narcissistic and challenging, but nevertheless 'one clear mind. They are taken from an abandoned novel Mike wrote over 25 years ago - based on the actual words of real homeless people Mike knew.
The themes, still relevant today are expression of fragmented lives, struggling to make sense of impossible circumstances, which we hope to expose. We hope that the songs speak for themselves, but behind them are hard political and social realities which we explore in the themes section of this website.
